Uploading images and other documents

Before you can upload a document or image to the wiki, you need to creat and account and login to that account. You can do this by clicking on the "log in/create account" link at the top of every page.

Once you're logged in, click on the "Upload file" link on the left in the "toolbox" section. You'll be presented with a page that will let you select a file on your computer, give it a name by which it will be known on the wiki, and give some summary text about the document or image.

Once you have uploaded an image or document, you will be taken to a new page created for that file. This page becomes the canonical place on the wiki for information about that file.

If you want to link to this file from another wiki page, copy the title of the page into your clipboard, and then paste it into a wiki link on the page from which you wish to link to the image.

For example, you have a page called "Joe Johnson" which you are editing. You have uploaded an image of Joe and have assigned the image the name of "Joe Johnson.jpg". The wiki will create a new page called "Joe Johnson.jpg" for your image. To link to this page from the page you are editing you put the following link in your page:

[[Joe Johnson.jpg]]

If you want to display the image on the page you are editing (as opposed to linking to it) then you would put a slightly different link in the page you are editing:

If you look at how this has been done on some of the existing wiki pages, you can get a good idea of how it works.
