History

Lyman is a town in Wayne County. The community was named for Francis M. Lyman, Mormon church official.

Lyman, or East Loa, is an outgrowth of Loa proper. Soon after the founding of Loa on the west side of the Fremont River, a few families located on the east side of said river, which subsequently became a neighborhood of its own.
